FacadeX Awarded MBV Contractor of the Year for ANMF Hotel Project

FacadeX was proud to be awarded the MBV Contractor of the Year for our work on the ANMF Hotel project. We were engaged to design, engineer, certify, construct, and install the external architectural elements, including sawtooth cladding, windows, shading, secondary support framing, insulation, parapets, and balcony feature fins.

A key strategy was to offsite-install the majority of these components onto the CLT structural walls, and then integrate the large panels as part of the CLT structure sequence. This streamlined approach contributed to the project’s efficiency and success.

The client’s vision for the ANMF Hotel was to create a distinctive hotel on the edge of the CBD, while respecting the heritage overlay of the original building. With the additional challenge of meeting Passivhaus performance criteria—a first at this scale—the project required careful planning and innovative solutions.

Clear direction from the client, combined with the expertise of the design team at Bayley Ward, the material and performance input from Inhabit, and the constructability insights from Multiplex; allowed FacadeX to successfully bring this complex project to life. Our role as the specialist contractor was pivotal in harmonizing these elements into a cohesive construction strategy that delivered exceptional results.
