PROJECT OVERVIEW
Innovative Use of GRC Elements in a Complex Architectural Project
The design concept for the main structure was based on combining structural integrity with complex material shape; with the integration of distinctive GRC (Glass Reinforced Concrete) elements across the podium and tower as a key architectural requirement. The project featured 584 unique GRC pieces, covering a total of 2,480 m² of visual surface area. This intricate design, construction, and installation process required meticulous coordination and planning from the entire team.
Adding to the complexityof delivery, the GRC installation was executed after the main curtain wall was completed, involving numerous tower crane lifts to load the GRC onto tiered floor plates. The engineering and logistical challenges were further compounded by an access strategy that utilized cantilevered scaffold towers on the main towers.
This project achieved exceptional precision, with zero moulding errors, zero GRC panel remakes, and only a single minor repair needed—a remarkable accomplishment for such a complex undertaking.
